The Waller Cup, Sailability Auckland Regionals 2011
This year the regatta was sailed on the 2nd of April, the day turned out sunny with very light and
shifty winds, so we didn't get the first race started until 2.40 pm. We just had time for three
shorten races, which was the minimum allowed in the N.O.R. After two races we had three
sailors equal on four points, Helena and the two John's. But it was John Buchanan who held
on in some very tight knit racing to cross the line first in the third race, to take the
Waller Cup home for 2011. Congratulations John.
Thank you to Steve Cranch and the race committee, and all the volunteers for helping
make the day a successful one.
